One of the benefits she felt that birth control would have would be to greatly reduce the incidence of abortions. As for the alleged 50-80 million deaths due to Carson's Silent Spring, this is a load of crap too. DDT was already losing its effectiveness by the time the book came out. She did not, however, call for a ban, and it is still used throughout the world. What is done is the massive spraying campaigns, and this is mostly because the mosquitos long ago developed resistance to the chemical. Oh, and that TOGODBETHEGLORY person is certifiable.
